Do not Let A label Define your autistic child
It can be easy if we have a special needs child, simply apply a label and use that as justification for everything they do differently than other children. But a label on our child, whether it can autistic or otherwise, one of the most damaging things we can do as parents.
That's not to say that we deny our child is autistic, it just means we do not define them by their disability. We define, by them and their behaviors, attitudes, and all that much about them them.
A label to our autistic children, can lead to fixed-limiting beliefs in our heads. As parents, we can start in the back of our mind to think that because our child has the label, they are only able to do so much.
Instead, we should be helping themselves to our children. Whatever that means. We should allow as much as possible that our children lead us and show us their skills and go from there.
One of the ways we can do this, play ground. Get down to the level so that they run to you instead of leading them. Let them be put up in their world, rather than trying to force them into ours. The more we allow them, allow us to get to know them, the better we will understand and help them to grow.
Labels were easily defined at the end, and restricting it. to love you and will help a lot out of them to tend to your child, then they define a disease or label.
Any disability or illness can affect how one learns and lives, but the value we place on the label can be harmful to all. Instead, let your child be themselves and help them in any way you can with the knowledge that they have a disability, but that it is not the disability.
Autism does not mean that you child can not live a healthy, happy life. It simply means that they do not live like us, and by the same conditions as us. By loving, caring and support we can help them live the best possible live without defining it by the terms of a label. Do not they understand that we do not admit they have autism, just that they are not children, autism.
